I didn’t have any interest in fashion beyond a casual archeological or psychological curiosity until this show. You know that scene in Devil Wears Prada about the blue sweater? Meryl Streep makes this allegedly profound point about how everything is fashion down to blue of the princess’s sweater. Well, for years that scene has seemed entirely obnoxious and absurd to me… until this show. Holy moly. I’m convinced that everything is fashion because of this show. Y’all, this show is so incredible. Radiolab for fashion. Throughline for fashion. Serial for fashion. Do it.

Avery, I am always learning and stretched when I listen to Articles of Interest. Absolutely incredible blend of humanity, culture, and fashion! Listening to the season on Gear, I’d pause the show to text my friends about it or text my husband who is an Air Force veteran to ask about the uniforms and camo. Or once you did a pod on clergy and their robes and I sent it to an episcopal priest I know - not because he’d learn anything about the history of the clothing- but because your commentary and take on humanity was so thought provoking. The fact that you are such a masterful storyteller and also self-reflective and so smart make your podcast stand out for me.
